Ipad Mini 299$ - Report Says

According to the breakdown of what the build-of-materials (BOM) cost of the upcoming iPad mini could be, Apple will sell their 7.85-inch tablet for $299  (Without Retina Display) when it debuts later this year… and still make over $100 in profit on each unit sold.  Math : The breakdown was done by blogger Sameer Singh over at Tech-Thoughts.net, based largely upon the existing costs of components used in the iPad 2, Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire. That’s not a bad way of doing things. Here’s the breakdown of what the sameer thinks the iPad mini would cost to build: Those numbers are speculation, but if they’re correct, Apple — who won’t sell a product unless they can make a hefty profit off of it — would price the iPad mini at $299 to maintain a greather than 30% gross margin on the device. Considering Google is selling the Nexus 7 at a loss at $199, which is a price Apple won’t emulate (and, given the iPad’s popularity, a mistake it doesn’t have to make) these numbers look good to us.

Microsoft Surface RT VS IPad

In the recent years only three products in the iterations, Apple has created and still dominates the touch screen tablet market. There have been touch screen devices before, including Apple’s Newton from 1987 and even a tablet PC form factor launched by Microsoft in the early 2000s, yet Apple’s iPad is still generally seen as the tablet device to aspire to. It’s a premium product at a premium price, yet Apple’s high volumes enable it to make a profit while keeping the bill of materials costs down. Simply undercutting the price with a less sophisticated device has not been a winning strategy as yet. It’s not that competitors haven’t been trying and some have been doing well, but there have already been some challengers fading as those not completely accustomed to the faster and fickle pace of retail products and the speed of consumerisation of the enterprise hit obstacles. HP, Dell, Cisco and RIM/BlackBerry have all stumbled with their tablet offerings and, while Avaya has persisted w

Iphone Home Button Less Responsive : Resolved

If you feel worried of iPhone Home button become less responsive to clicks, and pressing the button will either result in a delay, lag, or sometimes complete unresponsiveness requiring multiple clicks. While this could be symptomatic of a hardware issue caused by moisture damage or dropping the phone, sometimes you can fix the response problem with the following software fix sequences: Open a default iOS application, such as Stocks, Calculator, or Weather Press and hold down the Power button (at the top) until the “Slide to Power Off” dialog appears, then release Now press and hold only the Home button until the “Slide to Power Off” screen disappears (it may take a min) & force quitting the application This may works to fix the buttons responsiveness isn’t entirely clear, because the procedure actually just force quits the application you launched in the first step. This procedure supposedly recalibrates the Home button. Whatever is going on behind the scenes,
